Getting up during the night to use the bathroom becomes more common as people get older. But researchers in Japan have found a way to dry up the nightly urge to pee (and so deliver a better night’s sleep): Cut your salt intake.
A handful of OMG! Fitness divas made a road trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the 2017 Diva Run. It was an absolute blast! Check us out:
So yes, I'll readily admit it: I'm a bum. I haven't kept up with the blog in a loooong time. I hear you! My reason? Eh... The short story is, I'm a regular person. I get tired, I get distracted, I get unmotivated, I get caught up in my day to day life and put some things off that may not be high up on my priority list. Sound familiar? For a lot of us, fitness does the same thing; we'll reason that other things are way more important than working out or eating better and, before you know it, its been a year since you last did anything. So what's the solution? Admit and acknowledge your actions then try again. No one is motivated everyday but we have a chance everyday to be a little better than the day before.
March ushers in a set of new fitness classes. Each class is only 30 minutes long making it easy to fit in any schedule. Join us for fun every Saturday!

Valentine's Day often means indulging in the finest foods and decadent desserts. But never forget the old adage, "A moment on the lips - a lifetime on the hips". Check this out:
1 (6oz) filet mignon [470 calories] would take an hour of biking to burn off.
1 slice of NY cheesecake [260 cal] needs 34 minutes of vigorous exercise to disappear
Eating 5 pieces of chocolate from a box of assorted chocolates [1050 cal] would take a whopping 2.3 hours of cycling to counteract!
February is considered the "love month" and we here at OMG Fitness want YOU to love yourself! Show yourself how much you care by giving your body a fitness makeover.
Colder months usually mean time with family and friends, cozy fires, and great food. However, as many as 10% of Americans experience some form of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). With higher incidences of flu and colds, carb loading from all those holiday sweets, and noticeable energy lows common in the winter, many find it difficult to endure this peak in the winter season. Since moving to the tropics may not be a reasonable solution, we've come up with a few helpful tips to reinvigorate your mind and body.
By finding new ways to incorporate movement into your day you can start burning additional calories doing what you would normally do. Do squats while brushing your teeth or crunches during commercial breaks of your favorite show. It may inspire you to do more.
Find a Friend
Having a partner for your workouts are a great motivator. Studies show that those who exercise with a buddy stick with a program longer than those going solo. From walking your neighborhood to joining a group fitness class, the monotony of your day is broken and you get to be with people you enjoy.
Motivation for exercise in the winter months can be hard, so why not reward yourself with a special surprise for accomplishing that goal? Treat yourself to a spa treatment or a special item you've been eyeing after your vigorous winter workout is complete. The longer you keep up your fitness routine during the winter, the bigger the gift to yourself can be. Of course, at the end of winter, your body will give you a gift for all your hard work by being healthier and happier for spring!
Need help banishing the winter blues? Join us for our January boot camp! Drop in for a 1/2 hour intense session for only $5! Bring a mat and a friend and say goodbye to old man winter.
